In 2022, I visited Rye to see the jetty upgrades at Rye boat ramp!
As part of the Recreational Boating Structural Maintenance Program, the Victorian Government has provided close to $100,000 for upgrades of the ramp’s western jetty.
Minister for Fishing and Boating Sonya Kilkenny MP stopped in as well to check out the old wooden jetty as well as its more modern, functional neighbour on the eastern side of the ramp.
Upgrades to the old structure worth $98,440 will include new decking, handrails and better access to your boat when you tie up.
Mornington Peninsula Shire Council will manage the work, which is expected to begin late 2022.
